Encroachment Surety Bond

An Encroachment Surety Bond is a construction permit surety bond that is required by government entities to perform work on property within that jurisdiction. Often the contractor or principal that is required to have the bond is working on private property adjacent to public property. The bond guarantees that the work performed on the private property will not alter the condition of the public property and if it does so that the principal will restore the public property to its original condition.

These bonds are also known more specifically as Highway Encroachment Surety Bonds.
